Review: Rave 2 Adjustable G-Spot Vibrator With App Control by We-Vibe

The We-Vibe Rave 2 Adjustable G-Spot Vibrator stands out in an ocean of g-spot vibe options. Not at first glance. But definitely at first touch.

The Rave 2 has a smooth, asymmetrical ridge that gives the toy a topsy-turvy silhouette. It has a flexible shaft that can bend to a nearly 90 degree angle. Best of all, the We-Vibe Rave 2 has not one, but two powerful motors.

That’s an impressive first touch. But what about when you start using it?

rave 2 design and features

We-Vibe has been around for over 15 years. They’re known for their innovative designs (like the We-Vibe Sync), powerful motors (the We-Vibe Tango is the gold standard of bullet vibes), and generally sturdy construction. All of their toys are made with body-safe silicone.

The We-Vibe Rave 2’s silicone is soft with an almost powdery-smooth surface. The toy itself is incredibly rigid, with the exception of the bendable hinge in the middle. Admittedly, the posability is pretty limited in terms of what kind of curve you can achieve. You can only bend the Rave forward/up, until it’s an almost L shape.

Speaking of shape – the Rave 2’s topside is ‘twisted’ with an asymmetrical ridge. It reminds me of a Picasso portrait. The strangeness of this smooth texture is intentional: We-Vibe wants you to twist the toy in use, rubbing that ridge over your g-spot.

With a diameter (width) of 1.5 inches, the Rave 2 is intentionally average. That being said, having a bulbous tip means you’re taking its full girth from the start – so make sure you’re aroused and relaxed! If you’re used to body parts or softer dildos, the toy’s firm body will make it feel thicker in use.

The We-Vibe Rave 2 has all the hallmarks of a modern sex toy. It’s rechargeable, it’s waterproof, and it has optional mobile app control.

Like all of We-Vibe’s new and remodeled vibes, the Rave 2’s USB charge cord is magnetic and incredibly sturdy. We-Vibe says it takes about 90 minutes to charge, and a full charge gives you about 2 hours of play time. If you connect your Rave to the We-Vibe app, it’ll tell you the toy’s approximate battery percentage.

Maybe that seems frivolous, but I really appreciate being able to double-check a toy’s juice before actually playing. I can never remember when I last charged something, and having a toy die mid-session is miserable.

The Rave 2 Adjustable G-spot Vibrator has two motors: one for deep vaginal stimulation, and one for the often more-sensitive vaginal entrance. Using the ~ button turns on one motor, the other, or both. The first few times I turned the Rave 2 on, I didn’t realize I was only using one motor because they’re fairly strong and reverberate through the whole toy.

The Rave 2 has 10 settings (including one steady vibration setting) you can cycle through with the arrows. Each setting has 10ish speeds. I say ‘ish’ because while there’s definitely a great range here – starting with a light shudder, ending with a sharp growl – the transition between some speeds isn’t always noticeable in-use.

To be honest, I find the small, soft silicone buttons to be difficult to manage unseen. Especially with damp fingers. It’s easier for me to just use the app.

our we-vibe rave experience

We-Vibe is known for its rumbly vibrator motors, but I still wasn’t prepared for just how deliciously chuggy the We-Vibe Rave 2 is. Like the We-Vibe Tango, the Rave’s vibrations “make my clit feel like a waterbed, rippling under the force of deep, thumpy vibrations.”

On its lowest settings, the Rave 2’s vibrations shudder deep into your genitals like you’re straddling an idling motorcycle. (Because they stimulate the internal portions of the clitoris or g-spot, vibrations like these are great for deepening physical arousal and giving fuller orgasms. It’s all about blood flow, baby!) The motor loses some of its pure thumpiness as you click through higher speeds, but the vibration gets tighter, sharper in a way I really like.

The Rave 2 is no pelvis-pulverizing wand vibrator. (With both motors on the highest setting, the Rave 2 is juuust short of matching the Rechargeable “Hitachi” Magic Wand’s second speed. It’s about as strong as the Blush Wellness G Curve.) But for a g-spot vibrator, it packs a serious punch! I think most people will be well-served by its range of intensities.

There’s a lot of emphasis in the Rave 2’s marketing about the ‘dual stimulation’ motors thing. My partner Buster (who tests all the insertable sex toys on this blog) says that – at least for them – the vibration all jumbles together. If one motor is off, the toy just feels less intense overall. Switching between motors didn’t make a big difference in sensation despite the location varying.

If you’re more sensitive, definitely give the We-Vibe app a shot. You can control the toy’s motors independently by tapping the Rave icon to split it in two.

We use the motors simultaneously, but I love using the app and getting orchestrating the intensity with my fingertip. I keep it set to ‘vibrate’ (the steady setting) or ‘heartbeat’ (a chuggy rev) because we’re not fans of patterns. Obviously, app control is helpful for long distance partner play. But it’s also great for folks who tend to lose remote controls (RIP my Moxie controller) or who struggle with reaching/pressing tiny buttons.

We-Vibe’s app has improved since my Moxie adventures. I have a Samsung Galaxy s23, so my mileage may vary from yours. But in my experience, pairing/connecting is really easy and the toy rarely disconnects.

I have positive and negative things to say about the Rave 2’s curve and posability, but I’ll save that for the next section. For now I’d like to talk about the Rave’s intended/marketed use: rocking the toy side to side to utilize its unique asymmetrical ridges.

Because the Rave 2 is firm (with a thin layer of soft silicone overtop), my partner can definitely feel the blunt, off-center head and the asymmetrical ridge even when the vibration is on. (They can’t feel the incredibly subtle seam in the silicone.) As far as using the twisty doorknob technique instead of traditional thrusting, it’s more noticeable when they’re really warmed up and have the vibes on low.

Essentially, you’re just swiping a very mild arch against your internal wall, right left right left, swish-swish. If you like gentle fingering (especially with flattened fingertips rubbing circles, as opposed to the classic come hither gesture) you might enjoy this. Buster has low g-spot sensitivity, so they (generally) prefer firm kneading/massaging.

is the rave 2 really posable?

Unfortunately, I’m less impressed by the We-Vibe Rave 2’s posable shaft than I am its motors.

The We-Vibe Rave 2 Adjustable G-Spot Vibrator shown in both poses, 'straight' and fully bent.

I think the curve this adjustable g-spot vibrator starts with is pretty great. It reminds me of the Blush Wellness G Curve, which has a similarly scooped shaft and bulbous tip. The shape is ideal for wrapping up behind the internal pubic bone and providing a broad-faced massage. It’s not as extreme as the Njoy Pure Wand, but it serves most folks just fine. Honestly, if the Rave 2 was just this shape and had no posability, I wouldn’t even blink.

I knew posability would be limited – there’s only so much you can do with a bendable hinge in the middle of the toy. But its most effective use has been for external stimulation: bending it into an L and laying it on my pubic mound to rest against my clit. I can put a hand over the handle and hump against it, which is great for when I’m struggling with dysphoria. If you’re a large-bodied person like me, you might even be able to utilize this pose while having partnered penetration.

For internal use… unfortunately for my partner Buster, the Rave 2’s bendiness is essentially useless. Not because they can’t find an interesting angle – although again, there’s only so much you can do – but because the Rave 2 doesn’t actually stay bent.

The second you put any substantial pressure on the Rave 2 (such as, you know, firmly massaging it against your g-spot), the toy bends back to its default curve. Once it’s unbent, the Rave 2 is rigid and doesn’t flex against pressure like the Blush Wellness G Curve does. So we still enjoy it for g-spotting. It’s a great curve! It’s just not the intense angle we were excited to explore.

If you’re gentle with your toys, or you don’t clench or bear down much on your vibrators, you’ll probably be able to enjoy a subtle adjustment to the Rave 2’s curve. That’s great for sensitive folks who find that the usual curve is not quite right for them.

What does impress me is the fact that the Rave 2’s silicone can withstand all this bending. I’ve been doing ‘stress tests’ at my desk (in other words: using the Rave 2 for stimming and claiming it’s work-related.) I have bent and unbent this thing at least a thousand times. The flexible silicone doesn’t even have a crease.

(And before anyone blames my over-flexing for my Rave 2 not holding its bend – I started this after thoroughly testing the toy.)

final thoughts on this g-spotter

I wish this was a rave (heh) Rave 2 review. Unfortunately, some of the Rave 2’s special features (the twisty ridge and posable shaft) didn’t meet our expectations. The adjustable part of this adjustable g-spot vibrator doesn’t work! I’m not gonna kick the Rave 2 out of bed for it, but it does bum me out.

Most modern We-Vibe toys are worth owning because of their powerful and rumbly motors, sturdy construction, easy charging, and relatively streamlined app control. The We-Vibe Rave 2 is no exception. I just wish We-Vibe had released it at a lower price point (maybe by 86ing the posable shaft.)

The Rave 2 doesn’t have just one great We-Vibe motor – it has two. Buster might not be able to pick out the difference between them, but there’s no denying their combined efforts: deep, pulsating vibration that wraps all the way around Buster’s internal pubic bone thanks to the toy’s (default) tried and true curve.  Does that make it worth the cost? I guess that depends on how keen you are on incredibly rumbly vibrations..

If you’re just in it for two rumbly motors and app control, you can find the We-Vibe Rave 2 G-Spot Vibrator on Lovehoney or directly from We-Vibe. Currently in maroon and blue.
