This point bears repeating often: realistic dildos aren’t competition or a replacement for “the real thing.” They’re tools. Tools we can use alone or with others!
Tools are typically designed for a specific purpose. Like how a stud finder detects support beams in your wall so you can stably anchor shelving or decor. You know, nail things in the right place! The Uberrime Aptus Realistic Dildo is a great example of how dildos can be specialized too.
The Aptus Dildo’s long, gently curved shaft and spade-like head were designed to reach deep into the vagina to stimulate the a-spot. The a-spot is the sensitive area along the vaginal wall, beyond the g-spot and in front of the cervix.
So let’s talk about how this tool gets the job done…

aptus design and features
Like all of Uberrime’s creations, the Aptus Realistic Dildo is made of body-safe silicone. That means it’s non-porous (it won’t harbor bacteria after sanitizing) and super durable (it’ll outlast your air fryer by decades.) Silicone varies in firmness, but the Aptus is a squeezable, flexible medium firm. This density is often compared to human erections.
Because it has a flared base, the Uberrime Aptus is anal safe and can be used in most strap-on harnesses. It doesn’t have a suction cup, but you can purchase detachable ones from SheVibe.
The Aptus Realistic Dildo is the result of another collab between Uberrime and 3D artist MagicPhallic. The Aptus was modeled after Uberrime’s Night King, one of the best-known a-spot dildos on the market.
The Night King has a long reach and rope-like ridges for texture play. The Aptus keeps similar dimensions (same length, skinnier shaft), but ditches the King’s abstract aesthetic and goes full realistic with skin and vein details. Their heads are strikingly different, too: the Aptus’s head is longer, flatter, and has a narrow tip so it’s easier to tuck into place.
At first, the Aptus Realistic Dildo might look a little funny. The shaft is 1.6 inches in diameter – so about as thick or fractionally thicker than the average penis. But at 9 inches tall, the Aptus towers. I like to think of her as tall and slender, the Olive Oyl of silicone dicks.
There aren’t a lot of realistic dildos with these kind of proportions (extra long but not extra wide.) Which is a shame, because the “extra” length – your mileage may vary – is pretty useful. Yes, the Aptus can reach the a-spot with ease. But that extra reach can also provide a longer/easier handhold for thrusting. And it can help reach your partner during strap-on sex – especially if you’re plus size!
The Aptus Dildo’s head is pretty unique. It’s a triangular spade with a prominent meatus (piss slit) and highly pronounced corona/ridge. I’m partial to mushroomy heads (like the Divo’s) from an aesthetic standpoint, but the Aptus’s arrow head better serves the a-spot.
I love the ultra-realistic skin texturing and long, delicate branches of veins on the shaft. MagicPhallic is a wizard with dickly details! To further the realism, the Aptus comes in three skin tones. You can get it in a custom color through Uberrime.
our aptus a-spot experience
When I call the Uberrime Aptus Dildo “flexible,” I mean it. It’s not as squishy as the Igneus Dragon Dildo, but being so skinny means it bends easier. This can be a minor inconvenience when you’re pushing it in (gripping the halfway point of the shaft at first helps keep the Aptus angled true), or a major bonus if you wanna stick the Aptus in a harness and helicopter dick.
That being said, the Aptus is firm enough to hold its shape in use. The subtle curve is lost as the shaft flexes with your body contours, but the spade-shaped head? Both the tapered tip and prominent corona prod and tug like persistent fingertips, sliding and massaging as deep as you like. The Aptus’s upward-arching tip aims for the a-spot with the same pushy precision that the Uberrime Splendid brings to g-spotting.
Generally, with spot-specific stimulation, I suggest broader-faced toys so you don’t need “exact” aim. (Further, sensitivity varies; you might not have a “spot” so much as you have a general area.) The Aptus is the best of both worlds: a snub-pointed tip and a wide, flat face. Being average-width and medium-firm makes the Aptus kind to beginners, too, because you’re less likely to bash or bully your cervix.
To further take advantage of the Aptus’s pronounced head shape, I like to half-corkscrew the Aptus Dildo on outward thrusts. This teases my partner’s internal wall with the flared crown.
In terms of texture, my partner (and test dummy) Buster says it’s pretty subtle to them. There’s a pleasant, skin-like drag to the surface, but it’s nearly imperceptible once lube is involved. If you’re looking for a lot of texture play, you might want to consider the Night King instead. It’s sleek-surfaced, but those ridges…
(Alas, I don’t speak from experience. My Night King is a “flop” – a defective dildo – mistakenly poured in too-soft silicone. I’m obsessed with the Fire & Ice coloration, so I snagged it from the flop box during a visit to Uberrime’s studio.)
Generally, we like our dildos a lot thicker than the Aptus, so it probably won’t make it into our regular rotation. But when I want a realistic dildo long enough for me to use in a harness? The Aptus is one of startlingly few options for my partner and I. But with a straight-ish shaft (so many longer dildos shorten themselves with a curve!), medium firm density (it drapes when stationary in a harness but doesn’t flop), and a long length that can reach past my low-hanging stomach, the Aptus makes itself a good option.
final thoughts
The Olive Oyl of silicone dicks? Not half bad. Great, even! It definitely nails a-spot stimulation. The uniquely shaped head, rare proportions of being both tall and slender, and mouth-watering realistic skin details set this one apart. As does the flexible density.
If you’re a fan of firm stimulation? You might want to check out the Uberrime Astra instead. Its broader, flat-faced head and high, tight curve provide unyielding pressure on your a-spot. In comparison, the Aptus just nudges.
All that being said, the Aptus Realistic Dildo is special in all the ways my partner and I don’t really care about. We don’t need an average width dildo, we don’t (generally) prioritize a-spot stimulation, and the extra length is lost on me if I’m not having strap-on sex. (It actually becomes a slight inconvenience if my partner’s riding my thigh harness, because the Aptus is too long for them.) That’s the thing about specialized tools: they’re designed for specific jobs. And I don’t use a hammer for screws.
But when I’ve got an a-spot that needs nailing.. 👍
If your tool box is in need of an a-spotting Olive Oyl, you can find the Uberrime Aptus Realistic Dildo on SheVibe.
Thank you, Uberrime, letting me steal an Aptus while at Sex Down South. I consider Marco (Uberrime’s founder) a friend, but that doesn’t influence my opinions of their toys except to give me additional insight and appreciation for the artistry. I still hate the Amo (functionally, not aesthetically.)
