Review: Igneus Dragon Fantasy/Monster Dildo by Uberrime

A neon-colored dragon themed dildo surrounded by cupcakes.

If you follow me on social media, then you probably know I’m friends with Marco, the founder of indie sex toy studio Uberrime.

At its beginning, Uberrime was a part time, solo venture operating out of a tiny (but cozy) loft. Now Uberrime has multiple employees, occupies an expansive multi-room workshop, and diversifies their toy designs by working with freelance artists like Aus Sculpts and Wormhole Emporium.

One such toy design is the Igneus Dragon Dildo. While Marco’s hand-sculpted toys often feature smooth ridges and bulbous heads, this Aus-designed dragon is all fierce points. It’s a fascinating contrast, something different to spice up the ever-growing catalog of Uberrime toys.

But if those points intimidate you, don’t fret! While this dragon definitely intended for experienced players only, it’s poured in soft, squeezable silicone for comfort.

This gorgeous dildo is made of body-safe silicone. That means it’s hypoallergenic, you can sanitize it (by either boiling it for a few minutes or washing it in a 10% bleach bath), and it’ll essentially last a lifetime. The thick base makes it anal-safe and harness compatible (although it’s tricky getting a ring around it.)

SheVibe carries the Uberrime Igneus Dragon Dildo in two sizes. I have the Large Igneus, and it certainly earns that title: it’s 9 inches tall and over 2 inches thick (in diameter) at its widest point. The Small Igneus is still pretty hefty with its 1.7 inch width. For reference, here’s their size compared to a pop can:

Like the Drodong, the Igneus Dragon Dildo’s curved shaft is shaped like a dragon. The head – which narrows into an arrow-tipped taper – even has tiny antennae shaped onto the surface. The taper makes inserting this toy easier, because you’re gradually introduced to the dragon’s girth. On one side of the dildo, armor-like plating gradually widens the shaft. On the other side, a thin ridge eventually arcs out in two distinct fins. To further accessorize the surface, there are tiny knobs and eye-like divots.

The base of this toy is so fucking queer, y’all. I love it. Several of Aus Sculpts’ designs have vulva-esque bases, where the shaft looks like it’s unfurling from within. There are two clitoris beads (each highlighted in brighter pigment by the silicone pourer) and a couple of sleek spikes.

The Large Igneus comes in a vibrant, marbled color combo of hot pink, purple, and my favorite shade of blue. I feel like it works better with the intricate design than the Small Igneus’s Mardi Gras inspired splendor, which overpowers the details. But what your eyes seek out first is subjective, so you may disagree!

our experience with the igneus

As is the case with every big dildo, my partner Buster stepped in as a stunt cunt for the review.

If you’re familiar with fantasy toy terminology, the Igneus Dragon Dildo is silicone shore 0050. That means you can bend the Igneus in half by hand or helicopter it around in a harness, but it’s not gummy or floppy. The silicone is springy when squeezed, compressing under force but not fully yielding to the pressure. The Igneus’s ridges and spikes don’t stab or scrape, but they don’t relent either. They push, press, and rub.

The Large Igneus is Serious Business. It’s thick and there’s no escaping it.

Vaginally, the best way to use the Igneus is with the two spikes facing your front wall / pubic mound. The tapered head is easy for Buster to take, and the first half of the glossy shaft slides in with ease. The ridges on the top of the shaft are mostly felt at their center points, providing little pops of sensation when thrust. (Although not as much of a pop as the Uberrime Aqua King’s peaks or the Closet Play Triton’s ropey waves.)

“I can even feel the eye divots when you’re first pushing it in, but I kinda lose track of them once I’ve loosened up,” reads Buster’s notes on texture, “The girth is really distracting.”

As far as g-spot stimulation goes, the Uberrime Igneus doesn’t offer anything especially targeted to the g-spot. But its sheer width means everything’s getting pushed on simultaneously, so there’s no lack of stimulation.

Halfway down the dragon, the shaft fattens up and arches out with two spikes. It’s a thrilling transition, although the spikes definitely require mindful management. To help the Igneus’s unique shape get along with their vagina, Buster prefers a rocking/scooping motion over ramrod thrusting. This lets the Uberrime Igneus tuck in along the natural contours of their body, and keeps the spikes from getting pokey. Instead, they stroke like a hint of fingertips.

Depending on where they’re at in their cycle, Igneus Dragon Dildo is usually too long for Buster’s vag. Oftentimes the last spike just teases their entrance rather than popping in. If you have a sensitive urethra or you’ve been agitated by texture or pressure/stretching too close to your vaginal entrance before, that’s something to keep in mind. We compensate by applying extra lube throughout use to keep things extra slick!

uberrime igneus base & harness use

The Igneus Dragon’s base is sexy, but it serves a few practical purposes too. It’s as thick as a hockey puck and about 4.5 inches long, making it large enough to provide a stable foundation for riding. The underside is also slightly tacky (not sticky), so it grips to flat surfaces (not walls.)

Igneus’s length makes it great for Buster to ride. There’s extra shaft to compensate for straddling. On the other hand, that length – combined with Buster’s t-rex arms – mean Buster can’t quite reach the base when they’re laying down and fucking themselves by hand. They have to hold the Igneus by the bottom of its shaft, leaving the base to wobble uselessly on its own.

But we often use dildos during partnered sex, and I have no problems grabbing the Igneus by the base. I have a big hand, so my palm is the same width. I can comfortably tuck my fingers between its pink-highlighted spikes, giving me a good grip for railing the fuck out of Buster. If you have a small hand or lax grip strength, you might not love it as much as me.

As far as strap-on harness use, the Igneus is okay. The shape isn’t ideal for getting an o-ring on. To use my 2” metal ring, I have to hold the spikes down with my thumb and slowly wiggle the ring down. There’s not much room left for my harness’s fastening straps. Still, the Uberrime Igneus’s fat, squishy base is comfortable against my fat, squishy body. And there’s plenty of room for an Uberrime Grinder.

final thoughts on the igneus

As one would probably expect of a dragon, the Igneus takes some wrangling to be a good lover. While its spikes are squishy-soft, they’re still part of the experience, which might not be for everyone. But gosh does Buster love this girthy, neon-splashed fantasy dildo and its unique, intricate details.

Who else will enjoy the Igneus Dragon? Folks looking for something big and soft, with some rib-esque texturing that adds to the sensation but isn’t rigid. Who don’t need specifically targeted g-spot stimulation. Folks who can handle protruding shapes on their dildos, and find that added pushing/rubbing to be exciting rather than a nuisance. Who maybe prefer a scooping/dipping style thrust rather than a traditional in-and-out.

Maybe that sounds like a tall order. But this is a tall dildo, so that’s to be expected.

Thank you, Uberrime, for providing the Minima Dildo Set in exchange for an honest review. I consider Marco (Uberrime’s founder) a friend, but that doesn’t influence my opinions of their toys except to give me additional insight and appreciation for the artistry. I still hate the Amo (functionally, not aesthetically.)
