Review: Temptasia Harness Strap-on Briefs by Blush Novelties

Today’s review is a literal jackpot: a product I’m wild about, from a manufacturer I adore, sent to me by a shop I love. I’ve been nervous about trying a strap-on harness for a long time, and would probably have put it off forever without the extra nudge. So first and foremost: thank you, Peepshow Toys!

I’ve written before about my unfortunate relationship with strap-on harnesses: namely, that my partner Buster and I have never found one that worked for us. To be fair, after a disastrous first attempt, we haven’t exactly gone out of our way. With both price and sizing as barriers, it’s been easy to ignore how badly we want an effective harness; how validating it would be for our flux-y genders, how it would save me from bruises on my thigh from holding dildos in place, how much fun it would be to try new positions and pleasures.

In early talks with Peepshow Toys about things I might like to review, I mentioned never having found a harness that suited Buster and I. A few weeks later, Peepshow Toys reached out to ask if I’d like to try some – and eventually I got my hands on the Temptasia Harness Strap-On Briefs from Blush Novelties! Peepshow Toys even sent along Blush’s new Temptasia Reina dildo (review here) and Exposed Noctural bullet to go with it. A full fuckery kit! #Blessed.

I was already incredibly excited for this harness because it had been discussed in a previous Blush Universities class. (Though geared towards retailers, bloggers and educators are welcome to sit in on these online classes too. I’ve quite enjoyed them.) These briefs make their debut with sizes S–XL, but by the end of the year it will be available in 2X–5X as well. That is an awesome size range and directly challenges the first hurdle we had in finding a good harness: finding one that fits. It’s especially great because while I have found a few strap-style harnesses that can accommodate bigger bodies, underwear-style harnesses are harder to come by. And it’s priced at $24 USD, which pegs the other barrier: affordably.

The Temptasia Harness Briefs are made of cotton and spandex, making them both stretchy and flatteringly form-fitting. They’re cheeksters, which means the lower curve of your butt – especially if you have a generous one – is shown off by the fit. The waistband is thick and wide to help them stay in place. The o-ring is sewn into the front of the briefs, and can be accessed through a flap on the inside; this flap also hosts a small pocket for bullet vibes. Another pocket in the crotch can hold bullets or larger vibes. To my knowledge, the Temptasia Harness will only come in black.

Underwear-style harnesses are great because they’re often more comfortable and less obtrusive than straps. It’s easier to wear them under regular clothes, which means the wearer can pack, and/or is prepared for strap sex on the go (just tuck a dildo in your bag or purse.) This can be especially validating for transmasc folks, but anyone who regularly utilizes harnesses for packing, sex, or masturbation can appreciate the cozy convenience.

I love the Temptasia Harness’s genderless design. The cheeky cut makes them flirty, but with no lace or overtly masculine styling, the Temptasia Briefs avoid alienating folks who either want no gender presentation markers at all or who would be uncomfortable with the aesthetic leaning one way or the other.

The harness aspect of the Temptasia Harness Briefs is easy to use. Pull the flap inside the briefs open to expose the body-safe silicone ring within, and secure the dildo or packer of your choice by pushing it through the ring from behind. If your dildo has a soft base, you can fold the base like a taco and tuck it into the ring through the front. We actually prefer the latter method, as some of our dicks are bulky and finagling them into the pocket at an angle to fit through the ring can be a (brief) hassle. The ring is 1.5 inches wide but it fits most dildos because it has some stretch; I tried it with a variety of base styles and sizes and didn’t run into any issues.

Buster and I were pretty surprised at just how good these briefs are in use. We were expecting the waistband to roll or the fabric to get tugged askew from moving around and thrusting, but the Temptasia Harness stays in place on their body even with vigorous sustained motion. We use small dildos since I’m the receiving partner, but Buster has also modeled larger dildos and indulged in some helicocktering; and while the fabric did tug and stretch, it snapped back into place really well. They enjoy the unobtrusiveness of the fit, the way it hugs their ass but doesn’t wind up giving them a wedgy, and the sexiness and validation of being able to finally fuck me the way that they’ve always wanted to.

One thing to keep in mind is that there is only a fold of fabric between your body and the base of the dildo. Stiffer bases (like the Vixskin Mustang) and smaller bases (like the Real Nude Ergo) can get uncomfortable. To soften the impact, you can try bumpers designed to provide more padding for strap-on play, or you can stick to softer models (like dildos from the Avant line.)

The Temptasia Harness Briefs have two internal pockets for vibrators: one in the front, and one in the crotch. The front vibe sleeve is positioned so the bullet vibe can vibrate the dildo for the receiver’s benefit; the Exposed Nocturnal bullet Peepshow Toys sent was perfect for this, as it’s both strong and rumbly, so its vibrations traveled easily through both the fabric and the toy. It’s actually a little large for the pocket (as it’s bigger than most bullet vibes) but it stayed in place during use. The crotch sleeve is roomier (large enough even to accommodate the Sola Cue, if you don’t mind it poking at your taint) but Buster’s not a fan of vibrations like that so we don’t utilize it. Having a hard vibe against their prominent inner labia is just pinchy and distracting anyway; and since the pocket is so roomy, smaller vibes do kinda shift around haphazardly.

Though Buster is actually several inches past the suggested waistline for the XL, they’re a cozy enough fit that Buster enjoys wearing them as regular underwear as well. They don’t roll, sag, or pinch, and the only time the Florida heat has made them uncomfortable was after an hour spent cleaning out our old car in the middle of the afternoon – and trust me, nobody’s undies feel nice after that. Buster doesn’t notice the harness ring at all throughout the day and it doesn’t show a circle impression through jeggings. And when they wear the briefs to work, there’s a chance for (consensual) dick pics, a new and exciting avenue of sexting that I have Feelings about. I wish we’d had a packer to explore that avenue of expression, but alas, not yet.

The Temptasia Harness Briefs are machine washable, a claim we tested several times to see how they stood up to repeated washings. Our RV doesn’t have its own washer, so we do our laundry at a laundromat. Anyone who’s done coin laundry knows how merciless the machines are; delicates – and the occasional sock – don’t make it out alive. The briefs have definitely endured some battering, but so far besides pulled threads on the vibe pocket and some of the lining (including around the silicone ring), they’ve held up fine. We usually let them air dry since they’re already snug, but an accidental round in the dryer didn’t significantly alter them.

After avoiding strap-on harnesses for so long, I’m in awe of these briefs. They’re affordable, comfortable and form-fitting for a range of body sizes (with more to come by the end of the year), simple to use and validatingly effective, and easy to clean. (Simple cleaning is especially important to me, as this is a spoonie household.) They’re everything I didn’t think I could have in a harness, packaged in box that doesn’t presume the gender or sexuality of its purchasers. Were were afraid of trying to find the right harness because it felt like none of them were meant for us, and those that were we couldn’t afford. But here these are, checking off all our boxes.

I can’t wait until my size is released too, because my butt is just as cute as Buster’s and these briefs are exactly my style.

You can purchase a pair of Temptasia Harness Briefs in size S–XL from Peepshow Toys for currently just $24 USD.

  1. How much of a difference was there between Buster’s normal underwear size and the size of the XL briefs? And have you been able to get a set of your own to try? I’ve been looking for a good size guide, because while my hips are about 52 inches, I comfortably wear panties with a 37-inch waistband that are 45-46 inches at the widest, so I really am unsure about what size, if any, I would get in the Temptasia harness.
