I’m fascinated by sex toys designed to enhance partnered penetration. One such design is the hinge or c-shape vibrator. Popularized by We-Vibe’s Sync (and its updated version, the We-Vibe Chorus), these dual stimulating toys typically have two arms: one for vaginal insertion, and one for clitoral stimulation.

The Triple has three arms. You can insert the “rabbit ear” pair (thus leaving room for a penis or dildo), or let them frame your clitoris. One especially intriguing graphic on the product page suggests that you can insert the ears anally, while the larger bulb vibrates against your vulva.

The Triple was sent to me by Eawesion, who later merged with Treediride. You can get the Triple in pink (like mine) or purple.

I appreciate that even though it’s budget-priced (around $45 USD), the Triple has all the most important traits of a modern sex toy. It’s made of body-safe silicone, so it’s hypoallergenic and can be sanitized. It’s rechargeable – no pillaging remotes for batteries at 2 AM. It’s waterproof, which means you can wash it (or take it with you for a long bath) without worrying you’re going to drown the motor.

It also comes with a remote control. You won’t have to reach down to adjust the settings mid-use. But you can also pass the responsibility on to a partner!

The silicone finish is soft and textureless. The Triple’s “rabbit ear” arms are bouncy and flexible. Although firm, the bulb is fairly petite. There’s subtle ridging on the bulb, but it’s not really noticeable in use.

Because the Triple has a motor in each arm, I was hopeful it was going to bypass the usual shortcoming of low cost vibrators: limited vibration strength. Unfortunately, while each motor does whirr away with extremely noisy passion, there’s not much muscle behind the frantic buzzing.

The Triple just doesn’t conduct its own vibrations very well. You can hear and even feel the mechanics going hard, but the vibrations are so pitchy/buzzy they just skitter across the surface of the toy like static. My partner Buster (who tests all of the insertable sex toys for these reviews) said that the Triple feels itchy and unpleasant. It’s almost instantly numbing.

Worse, it makes the most bee-like droning of any sex toy I’ve ever reviewed. It’s comically loud and cartoonishly waspy, especially the ears.

As far as the design’s versatility goes… It does okay. The rabbit arms are bouncy, so they don’t stab or pinch whether you’re using them internally or externally. Buster could move around and the arms would just flex to accommodate it. When the rabbit ear arms were inserted, I couldn’t use a dildo with a fat head or it would get caught on the arms and yoink the whole toy out.

The bulb seems better functional overall. It’s very unobtrusive, especially externally. It’s thin enough to snuggle between Buster’s labia, but wide enough that it actually covered their clitoris. When it’s inserted, you can’t reach the buttons – but that’s okay, because you’ve got the remote!

The remote is a big draw for this toy, especially at this price point. The buttons are easy to push and make a soft click sound, so even though it doesn’t light up in the dark, you can tell you’ve made contact. You can control the ears motors and bulb motor separately.

For adventure’s sake, we did try the Triple as a double penetration toy. I’d only recommend doing this with the rabbit ears inserted anally – if you put the bulb end in your butt, the ears aren’t rigid enough to stop the toy from sliding too deep. (The awkward shape might, but I don’t think it’s worth the discomfort of trying.)

Although Buster really enjoys anal, they didn’t get much out of this unconventional use. The bulb wasn’t long enough to still reach their clitoris anymore. The ears are kinda just… there. Using it this way feels like masturbating with household objects: it exists, but it’s not as good as sex toys specifically designed for it.

To be honest, I’m a little bummed by the Triple. I think the design has potential, it just needs a better motor (and probably a higher price point to compensate.)
