The sex toy industry is a mix of aging giants and innovative trailblazers. Go into any shop and you’ll see a newly released app-enabled gadget in minimalist packaging sitting on the same shelf as a battery-powered egg vibe with porn and tacky fonts on the box. Sometimes these products are even made by the same manufacturer, designed decades apart, still in production.
I was reminded of this when I unboxed some vulva pumps sent to me by SheVibe. The Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Extreme Vibrating Pussy Pump (what a name!) looks like a sex toy from the 90’s. The sexualized packaging feels like an unflattering time capsule.
But being old school and/or low-tech doesn’t mean a sex toy is bad. (Marketing aimed at cishet men aside.) The Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump is cheaper than its automatic, rechargeable successors. The pump’s long, deep cup makes it an ideal choice for folks who want substantial swelling – and that’s harder to find in a budget vulva pump than you’d think.
So, how user-friendly is this budget-friendly pump?

fetish fantasy extreme pump design
There are two components to this pump: the pump itself, and a detachable vibrating egg bullet. The pump is manual, which means you’re creating the suction yourself by working the lever.
The Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump is mostly made of hard plastic. But the tubing, rim around the cup, and some texturing on the lever are made of PVC. PVC is porous and can harbor bacteria, so it should never go inside of you. This is an external-only toy, but I’m still careful to wash it thoroughly and let it air dry before storing it.
PVC sometimes stinks like chemicals due to how it’s made, but my pump doesn’t smell. I also haven’t had any issues storing it with other pumps with silicone components.
In my experience, the Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump’s lever is best held by resting the end against my palm and gripping the two-sided trigger with my index and middle fingers. Otherwise, holding it can be tiresome. The trigger arms are buffered with squishy PVC to give you a better grip.
Like all good pumps, the Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump has a quick release valve. It’s a large, round button, which is easy to locate by touch, but the thick plastic hitches and can sometimes take some extra force to press. Unlike pumps like the Temptasia Pussy Pump or Kink Automatic Pump, the Fetish Fantasy Pump doesn’t immediately release its suction. Instead, it gradually exhales. This means if you get ahead of yourself and pump too much, you can release a little at a time.
The Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump’s deep cup is 6 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 2.5 inches deep. (It’s the biggest cup I own!) Instead of having a flat opening like the Temptasia Pussy Pump, the Extreme Pump’s cup rim is concave with sloped ends. On the top of the cup, there’s a slot for the detachable bullet vibe. The vibe is battery-powered and controlled by a corded remote.
I rarely use the vibrations, so I was pretty happy that I can remove the bullet so I don’t have to deal with the cord. The pump tubing is enough to finagle on its own.
how do i get the pussy pump to fit?
As I warn in my vulva pumping guide over on SheVibe, pumps need a consistent, unobstructed surface to achieve suction. Our bodies are all unique, so some pumps won’t work for some individuals. There are some tricks to help, but generally, it’s down to if the cup shape suits your body.
I have very fat outer labia that I keep mostly shaved, so I’ve rarely encountered a pump that couldn’t suction onto me. My partner Buster (whose outer labia are thinner and shorter) rarely finds one that can. As is often the case, the Extreme Vibrating Pump works great for me and not at all for them. Buster’s vulva is too short length-wise to fit the Extreme Pump’s long cup.
If you’re struggling with a pump but it’s almost fitting, there’s a few things you can do to help make it work:
- Be physically aroused. Labia swells when you’re turned on, which gives the pump more room to hold on.
- Coat the cup’s inner rim with a thick lube.
- Trim or remove pubic hair that might be breaking the vacuum seal.
- Squish your squishy bits together to fill the cup. Sometimes the space between your outer labia or the length of your vulva can create gaps.
- Hold the cup down and pump rapidly to vacuum the cup to your body, then let go and pump at your desired pace.
my experience with the extreme pump
I love transparent pussy pump cups. Watching yourself or a play partner swell up is incredibly hot. The Fetish Fantasy Exreme Pump’s plastic cup definitely fogs up in use, but not as badly as the Temptasia Pussy Pump’s. You can still see what’s going on inside.
Like the Automatic Kink Pump, the Extreme Vibrating Pump is a beast. Because the cup is larger than the Kink Pump’s and the pumping is done by hand, it takes longer to achieve a tight fit. But once you pass that threshhold, this thing suctions hard and keeps sucking.
If you prefer your pumping to be fast, you might get frustrated with the Fetish Fantasy Pump’s initially timid pulls. But I’m glad each pull of the trigger only increases the pressure a little bit. With how intense this pump becomes, a gradual climb towards filling the cup out is ideal for me. The cup is incredibly firm (and its PVC lining isn’t much gentler) so it becomes uncomfortable (even pinchy) pretty quickly. Especially the slightly pointed tip at the top of the cup. Depending on how sensitive your vulva is, you might find the Fetish Fantasy Pump downright unpleasant in its rigidity.
In certain moods, “uncomfortable” is exactly what I want out of pumping. I want to feel like I’m being meanly gripped as the suction forces my body to expand. But not everyone is after that experience. If you’re not, I recommend shallow and flexible pumps like the CalExotics Pro Intimate Pump.
The deeper cup gives me plenty of room to swell, and the strong suction makes it easy to achieve. I can keep pumping for a long time and get that temporary plumped look loved by pumping enthusiasts.
I’m not really into substantial/prolonged swelling, but I feel like if that’s your goal, the Fetish Fantasy Extreme Vibrating Pump is a budget-friendly choice for beginners. It works better for long sessions than most automatic pumps I’ve tried.
pump vibration strength & quality
If you don’t mind wrangling a cord, the Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump has a vibrating bullet you can click into the cup. Because both the bullet and the cup are made from hard plastic, the bullet doesn’t pop snugly into place. Too much force feels like it might break one or the other. I push it in just enough to stay still and try not to jostle it.
The bullet egg is controlled via a rickety dial on the corded, battery powered controller. The dial’s textured edge is sharp in some places, so watch your thumb! While I hoped the dial meant a range of intensities, there’s only one or two (it’s hard to tell) and any additional wheeling doesn’t effect it.
The vibrations have some muscle to them. They’re thumpy with some prickly side buzz, a mashup of the buzzy (pitchy, surface-traveling) to rumbly (thumpy, deep-massaging) vibration scale. But when traveling through the cup, they’re diffused and feel itchy and tickly. Vibrations in pumps are mostly for teasing, and these do just that.
Corded vibes can be nice because you don’t have to reach down and paw around on the toy itself to change the intensity. Wireless remotes are even easier, but those require recharging. (Something that even I, a professional hater of battery-operated toys, am often bamboozled by.) If this egg runs out of charge, you just swap the batteries.
That being said, I don’t enjoy navigating the struggle of keeping this cord out of my way. I also don’t like having to wipe it down after every use because I inevitably touch it with lubey fingers to pull it aside.
final thoughts on the fetish fantasy pump
Not gonna lie, this toy could probably use some updating. The Fetish Fantasy Pump’s packaging is garrish and alienating, and its pressure release button is kinda janky. Personally, I’d also love to see its PVC components replaced with silicone, and its AA-powered bullet swapped with something rechargeable and cord-free.
That being said, if you’re on a budget and you’re looking for a pump with a bigger/deeper cup, the Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump is cheap manual option. I still prefer my Temptasia Pussy Pump (which doesn’t vibrate and has a smaller cup) for manual pumping, but it’s not going to work for everyone. If you need a longer, sloped cup, or a vibrating function, the Fetish Fantasy Vibrating Pump has that to offer.
Still, I think if vibration or versatility is important to you and manual control is not, consider saving up the extra $30ish to get something like the Bloom Automatic Pump. It has multiple cups for both the vulva and clitoris/nipples, stronger vibration, and it’s a more compact experience. Pump design has come a long way, and it shows in toys like the Bloom.
If the Fetish Fantasy Extreme Pump still sounds like the best option, you can find it on SheVibe.
