Review: Funny Double Head Vibrator by Sohimi

Just a heads up: this vibrator is currently unavailable. You can check out the post sponsor’s vibrators category for alternatives to the toy featured in this post.

A Zumio laying on a green backdrop beside a larger, similarly pinpoint pink vibrator.

The Zumio X taught me to love pinpoint sex toys. That ultra-targeted, oscillating tip is definitely not for everyone. But it’s the kind of clitoral stimulation I’ve been craving lately: direct and unwavering.

When Sohimi reached out about doing a review, I browsed their shop for something Zumio-like. I found the High Frequency Vibrator and the Funny Double Head Vibrator, and chose the Funny Double Head for review.

The Funny Double has an exposed shaft that you click the heads on.

The Funny Double is significantly larger than the Zumio X. Like the High Frequency, it has multiple heads so you can diversify your experience. The Funny Double’s handle is also a vibrator, and has an upward curve to target the g-spot if you use it vaginally.

I love the feeling of the Funny Double Vibe’s silicone. It reminds me of Blush’s Avant dildos, which feel soft, smooth, and almost powdery. The tip and the curved portion of the handle are both very flexible. I knew as soon as I unboxed it that it wouldn’t be anything like the petite, rigid Zumio.

Changing out the heads can be a little difficult. They’re hard to push down onto the exposed motor rod, and I was often forced to leave a gap. They’re even harder to pull off.

Of the toy’s two heads, the textured flowercup intrigued me the most. It’s too wide to snugly envelope my clitoris or my relatively small nipples, but the tiny nubs inside can be rubbed if you press and angle the cup. Unfortunately, the silicone is too flexible to do this effectively. The neck bends and the cup squashes.

The regular rounded tip is easier to maneuver. But if you press too firmly (as I’m prone to doing, I crave pressure) it folds over. This extra flexibility could be useful to folks who roll their hips a lot during sex or masturbation, because the toy is more likely to move with you rather than obstruct you.

But I wanted firm pressure because the vibrations are shallow and don’t travel down to the tips very well. I tried flipping the toy around to use the handle vibrations on my clit instead, but, well…

The Funny Double Vibe has two motors: one in the bottom of the handle, and one at the top of the toy where you exchange the tips. Each one has 9 settings: 3 steady speeds, and 6 patterns. Sounds great on paper. The problem is both motors are super mild and incredibly buzzy. They emit that distinct, high-pitched hum many of us have come to associate with weaker vibes.

It bums me out when vibrators have interesting designs but meh motors. The Funny Double Head feels like it could be a great first vibe: it’s rechargeable, budget-friendly, versatile. But even if you prefer your vibrators buzzy rather than rumbly, the Funny Double Vibe’s motors feel… muffled. Their range is decent, but the toy doesn’t carry the sensation very well.

Because I have vaginismus, my partner Buster tried the Funny Double vaginally. Although it’s smaller than their usual choice of dildos, they enjoy its mild curve and flat-faced g-spotting head. (Folks who need firm pressure on their g-spot probably won’t be as enthusiastic about the Funny Double’s flexible shaft.) But the vibrations are so waspy they’re practically non-existent. Buster can feel the motor whirring, but the vibrations are too weak to translate into a discernible sensation.

Cleaning the Funny Double Head is pretty easy. There are no tricky seams to worry about; the buttons are etched and charge port is recessed into the silicone, and can be rinsed with ease. The tip of the vibrator is a little harder, because with the head removed, part of the motor is exposed. You have to be careful not to get water in it.

The Funny Double Head comes in a plain, unmarked box.

Do I recommend the Funny Double Head Vibrator? Only if you’re really sold on its quirky shape and like your vibrations buzzy and mild to medium in strength. It’s definitely not a Zumio dupe. It doesn’t have to be like another toy to be enjoyable, but sadly for me, it’s not a functional alternative either.

While the Funny Double Head Vibrator is not currently available, Sohimi has other vibrators. Just be aware that their products and categories are gendered.
