Last year I finally bought it.<\/p>\n<p>For some kinksters, sex and BDSM are separate activities (especially for folks who don\u2019t desire the former.) For me, the two have always been intermingled \u2013 I don\u2019t enjoy one without the other. That\u2019s lead to some <em>literal<\/em> sticky situations over the years. They\u2019ve been in business for over 20 years and are stocked in dozens of shops across the US. It\u2019s small enough to wield in an apartment bedroom, but big enough that it doesn\u2019t feel like a novelty toy.<\/p>\n<p>The 24 falls (sometimes called tails, tresses, or flogs) are made from one piece of leather, so the individual strips are all attached at the bottom. That means it\u2019s basically impossible for a fall to fall out. (Say that five times fast!) The leather is <em>soft<\/em>. The top of every tail is slickly textured and black, and the underside is suede-y and blue.<\/p>\n<p>To be honest, it\u2019s not as <em>blue<\/em> as I was hoping. The listing warns that \u2013 as with all hand-crafted goods \u2013 colors can vary. But rather than being \u201ca stylishly understated splash of color,\u201d my Devil Leather Flogger\u2019s \u201cblue\u201d is a muted, muddy grayscale. If you\u2019re looking for bolder hues, there\u2019s full-color <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers\/products\/red-devil-leather-flogger?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Red Devil<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers\/products\/pink-devil-leather-flogger?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Pink Devil<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers\/products\/purple-devil-leather-flogger?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Purple Devil<\/a> variations.<\/p>\n<p>I love gliding the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/products\/blue-devil-leather-flogger-floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Dragontailz Flogger<\/a>\u2019s supple falls over skin. The soft, luxurious leather is just heavy enough to provide a sensual stroke rather than a tickle (depending on your sensitivity.) If you have a plastic cup or plate that\u2019s labeled microwave and dishwasher safe, it\u2019s probably made with polypropylene! The handle has a vaguely rubbery finish. There\u2019s a decorative, antique-y looking cap on the base to save the Devil Leather Flogger from being plain jane. (Mine is admittedly a little off-center.)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not just the handle that\u2019s lightweight. The <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/products\/blue-devil-leather-flogger-floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Devil Leather Flogger<\/a> in its entirety is startlingly light. If your fingers or wrist struggle bearing weight (as mine sometimes do), that\u2019s great news. If you want some heft to your impact toys, well\u2026<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"my_experience_with_devil_leather\"><\/span><em>my experience with devil leather<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Devil Leather Flogger is not my only budget range flogger. They\u2019re feather light and produce a whispery sting (but only if you focus your force at the tips.) I only use the <a href=\"https:\/\/shareasale.com\/r.cfm?b=1624116&amp;u=3636866&amp;m=101452&amp;urllink=shevibe%2Ecom%2Ffifty%2Dshades%2Dof%2Dgrey%2Dplease%2Dsir%2Dflogger%2Easpx&amp;afftrack=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Fifty Shades flogger<\/a> for what I call \u201cbitchy\u201d impact play: terrorizing a recipient\u2019s nipples, hands, and genitals. It\u2019s too gentle for much else.<\/p>\n<p>If the Fifty Shades flogger is paper, the <a href=\"https:\/\/pleasuregardenshop.co.uk\/shop\/bondage-bdsm\/sensation-play\/bound-nubuck-leather-flogger\/?aff=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Bound Nubuck Leather Flogger<\/a> is dense spaghetti suede. It has 36 long, thin, heavy falls that tangle when not properly managed and deliver a sharp, startlingly strong clap. It\u2019s the hardest hitter of my budget floggers, so I use it for heavier play.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of potential pain, the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/products\/blue-devil-leather-flogger-floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Devil Leather Flogger<\/a> sits in the middle of the huge gulf between the Fifty Shades flogger and the Bound Nubuck Leather. A heavy, intentional swing gives your bottom a thump \u2013 but it\u2019s only as painful as a medium effort hand smack. But their width and quality saves them from the \u2018bitey bits of paper\u2019 effect of cheapier fare. The tips provide a flash of <em>sting<\/em> as they splash (or if you flick the flogger for a tips-focused blow), but overall the Devil Leather Flogger sits on the <em>clappy thump<\/em> part of the impact sensation spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, this flogger\u00a0<em>sounds<\/em> like a much heavier toy. Even lighter claps create a distinctly visceral <em>slap-crack<\/em> of sound. Great bark, mild bite \u2013 ideal for scenes where you want the <em>illusion<\/em> of heavy impact without having to actually suffer for it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7747\" src=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_05-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_05-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_05-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_05-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_05-1536x1024.png 1536w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_05-2048x1365.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Because the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/products\/blue-devil-leather-flogger-floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Dragontailz Flogger<\/a>\u00a0is so light weight, it can be weird to handle. The falls flutter more than <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">heavier peers\u2019<\/a> when flung and sometimes splash back when they strike skin. But unlike my Bound flogger they don\u2019t get tangled up with each other. The handle is balanced (its weight is equal to the falls, providing a good equilibrium for swinging) and feels good in my hand. Still, swinging took practice while I came to terms with having less pull\/feedback than heftier floggers (because you\u2019re throwing less weight.)<\/p>\n<p>The handle has no texture. That makes it easier to wipe down if you play with sticky fingers, but it <em>also<\/em> makes it more slippery. <em>Especially<\/em> with sticky fingers! If you\u2019re not mindful, the handle can skid in your grip when you throw. (I may or may not have, <em>on occasion<\/em>, fumbled my flogger like a fuckin\u2019 Wiimote. Don\u2019t judge me.) If the Devil Leather Flogger was a heavier hitter, I might be nervous about the lack of grippable grooves in the handle. But this is a gentle smacker!<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"final_flogger_thoughts\"><\/span><em>final flogger thoughts<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>After sitting on my Stockroom wishlist for years, I\u2019m glad the <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/products\/blue-devil-leather-flogger-floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Blue Devil Leather Flogger by DragonTailz<\/a> is finally mine.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7750\" src=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_06-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_06-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_06-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_06-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_06-1536x1024.png 1536w, https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/stockroom_dragontailzbluedevil_06-2048x1365.png 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the maker\u2019s website, the Blue Devil Leather Flogger is called an Intro Flogger, and I think that\u2019s a good call. It\u2019s a great beginner\u2019s flogger: medium-sized (thus pretty easy and intuitive to handle), incredibly sturdy, and comparatively mild even with heavier swings. It\u2019s light in weight, but quality in construction. I have no doubt it\u2019ll survive on my gear rack (albeit with a loop handle of my own making since the tiny elastic it comes with is too restrictive) for a decade past all the plasticy pleather duds I\u2019ve collected over the years.<\/p>\n<p>I just wish it was actually blue!!<\/p>\n<p>Find the Dragontailz Devil Leather Flogger on Stockroom in <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/products\/blue-devil-leather-flogger-floggers?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">\u201cBlue\u201d Devil<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers\/products\/red-devil-leather-flogger?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Red Devil<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers\/products\/pink-devil-leather-flogger?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Pink Devil<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockroom.com\/collections\/floggers\/products\/purple-devil-leather-flogger?rfsn=5563340.e26677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Purple Devil<\/a>.
