Appropriately, it\u2019s also the name of <a href=\"https:\/\/closetplaysextoys.com\/shop\/ols\/products\/triton-dildo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener sponsored noreferrer\">this debut dildo from Closet Play Sex Toys<\/a>, which has waves (heh) of ridges on its blue and gold shaft.<\/p>\n<p>The Triton is a very handsome, elegantly designed dildo. Between uses, I leave it on my bedside shelf like a sex positive statue.<\/p>\n<p>Closet Play Sex Toys is a relatively new indie maker. They\u2019re an enthusiastic 3 person team, and their hand-made silicone dildos and plugs (including the giggle-inducing \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/closetplaysextoys.com\/shop\/ols\/products\/bangalorian\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener sponsored noreferrer\">Bangalorian<\/a>\u201d) reflect their sex positive nerdiness. At the time of this posting, Closet Play\u2019s worldwide shipping was a flat $15 USD.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the two dildos I was sent for review, I received a pair of adorable drawstring storage bags. They\u2019re printed with Closet Play\u2019s geeky, joyful logo.<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly, a bag labeled Sex Toys is not ideal if you\u2019re hiding your goodies from snooping housemates. But it\u2019s perfect merch for those of us who aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"closet_play_triton_dildo_design\"><\/span><em>closet play triton dildo design<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>My <a href=\"https:\/\/closetplaysextoys.com\/shop\/ols\/products\/triton-dildo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener sponsored noreferrer\">Triton Dildo<\/a> stands at 8 inches tall. Describing Triton\u2019s width is a little more complicated, because the shaft varies in girth, and it\u2019s oblong shaped rather than round. At the shaft\u2019s widest point, it\u2019s over 2 inches in diameter. You can also use Triton in a strap-on harness. Since the balls are responsible for off-setting the Triton\u2019s weight in an o-ring, I use <a href=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/index.php\/2018\/09\/03\/review-temptasia-harness-strap-on-briefs-by-blush-novelties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a harness with a pocket<\/a> for added stability.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of this posting, Triton comes in one coloration: a bold spiral of glittery gold and blue. It\u2019s done by hand, so the spirals aren\u2019t perfectly proportioned. But coming from a relatively new dildo maker, I\u2019m impressed with how great the lines are. I also love the visual reminder that this toy is a work of art.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/closetplaysextoys.com\/shop\/ols\/products\/triton-dildo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener sponsored noreferrer\">Closet Play Triton<\/a> is made of what I\u2019d call firm or medium-firm silicone. You can bend it over with enough force, and it has a little bit of give when you squeeze it, but overall it\u2019s a pretty rigid toy. Being firm means Triton\u2019s ridges are really noticeable in use. Texture lovers can rejoice!<\/p>\n<p>Triton\u2019s design is distinctly phallic, with a defined head and balls. The head is sloped and ends with a wide, stimulating crown on the topside. It\u2019s almost cartoonish in shape, and I\u2019m incredibly charmed by it. There\u2019s also some lining on the sack near the shaft, probably a remnant from the 3D printing process that made the original sculpture. (Casts\/molds are made from 3D prints so the maker can pour in silicone, creating actual usable dildos. You wouldn\u2019t want to fuck the plastic sculpture!)<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the silicone is smoothed down, but it does have a matte (draggy) texture that makes good lube a must.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"lets_talk_about_those_wavy_ridges\"><\/span><em>let\u2019s talk about those wavy ridges!<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>My partner Buster (who <a href=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/index.php\/2021\/02\/01\/when-you-risk-your-genitals-for-the-one-you-love-an-interview-with-buster-lebeau\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tests all the insertable sex toys for this blog<\/a>) has been extra adventurous this year. While they generally prefer <a href=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/index.php\/2019\/12\/11\/review-mel-supersoft-silicone-dildo-with-suction-cup-by-squarepegtoys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">large and super soft dildos<\/a>, they\u2019ve been exploring firmer density toys.<\/p>\n<p>Being firm highlights certain aspects of a dildo\u2019s design. The <a href=\"https:\/\/shevibe.com\/njoy-pure-wand-double-ended-steel-dildo.aspx?rfsn=4817663.6e587d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Njoy Pure Wand<\/a>, for example, was designed for intense g\/p-spot milking. When utilizing slow thrusts, the smooth, swooping, shaft-hugging lines that make Triton so visually unique massage your inner walls in waves.<\/p>\n<p>Buster prefers shallow, rocking thrusts, which allows them to concentrate on the Triton\u2019s head and the first pair of ridges. These provide persistent but surprisingly nonabrasive g-spot stimulation when gliding over the urethral sponge. The slope of Triton\u2019s shaft makes it easy to dip the dildo under Buster\u2019s pubic bone, something we can\u2019t say about a lot of dildos because their pubic bone is pretty steep.<\/p>\n<p>The ridging is more prominent on the sides than the top of the shaft. This makes it less resistant\/tuggy to thrust, and there\u2019s fewer deep gullies for lube to get trapped in instead of slicking the toy. These provide strong pops of stimulation instead of fluid rippling like Triton\u2019s. I think the Triton\u2019s ridging is friendlier to the average user.<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"the_rest_of_the_experience\"><\/span><em>the rest of the experience<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>There\u2019s more to this merman than its ridges, however. The shaft is tapered at the head, and again towards the base\/balls, to give the Triton a girthy oblong \u201cbelly\u201d in the middle. This creates a sense of fullness, which is intensified by the fact that it\u2019s medium-firm and has some resistance when you clench it.<\/p>\n<p>Because Triton isn\u2019t thick all the way down, that full feeling is pleasant but not the same as <a href=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/31\/review-hellbone-dildo-of-doom-hellboy-sex-toy-by-geeky-sex-toys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">being <em>stuffed<\/em><\/a>. So if you prefer a consistent stretch, keep that in mind when you ogle Triton\u2019s dimensions. They fit nicely in my hand, and the ridges on them give my fingers somewhere to fit. Even when my fingers are wet with lube (and they often are when we\u2019re using the Triton), I feel confident picking up the pace because I\u2019m not likely to drop it.<\/p>\n<p>With faster thrusts, the Triton\u2019s ridges almost seem to melt away. The main point of stimulation becomes the toy\u2019s tapered head. The snubbed tip rubs and nudges as you move the Triton, its flared crown providing a similar (but much smaller) pop as the <a href=\"https:\/\/bettybutch.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/04\/review-aqua-king-silicone-fantasy-dildo-by-uberrime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aqua King<\/a>\u2019s spikes.<\/p>\n<p>If you thrust the Triton straight-on, the head can feel kinda pokey. In our experience, the Triton should be rocked to follow the swoop of its shaft. Doing so better highlights the texturing, and it keeps the head and crown from catching. In general, medium\/firm dildos are easier for anal than super soft ones, because they don\u2019t yield against tighter musculature. The Triton\u2019s narrower head helps pry a well-prepped asshole open, allowing Buster to gradually take its girth rather than all at once.<\/p>\n<p>The ridges are, of course, extra exquisite anally, if you like a lot of braid-like texture. But the fin-like ridge on the Triton\u2019s underside (the faux dorsal vein) is much more noticeable too.
