A few months ago, Peepshow Toys spoiled me with a kinky care package. Among the goodies were two spike wheels: the Doc Johnson Kink Spike Wheel<\/a> and the XR Brands Lil Devil Sensation Pinwheel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Spike wheels (also known as \u201cWartenberg wheels\u201d or \u201cpinwheels\u201d) are one of my favorite foreplay tools. The original Wartenberg wheel was a medical device designed to test nerve sensitivity.<\/p>\n

Spike wheels<\/a> look painful, but they\u2019re not! They\u2019re actually just light pressure toys. They usually feel like a cross between fingernails and firmly pressed fingertips. Spike wheels are best used slowly, which makes them a great choice if you\u2019re wanting to take your time and really enjoy all your skin has to offer.<\/p>\n

These sensory toys can be used anywhere external. I like to vary what body parts I target. First I\u2019ll wheel over somewhere sexy and sensitive: breasts, inner thighs, throat, balls, stomach, or the soles of their feet. According to the marketing, the weighty Kink Spike Pinwheel<\/a> is made of solid \u201cmetal and zinc.\u201d It has a black chrome finish that I find really gorgeous, and it gleams whenever the light catches it. Because it\u2019s metal, the handle \u2013 which has some grippable ridging on the side \u2013 can be chilly when you first pick it up.<\/p>\n

The Kink Spike Pinwheel has three individual wheels. Having multiple wheels spreads out the toy\u2019s pressure\/sensation so it\u2019s not as ticklish. Its little metal probes have blunted tips, which makes them feel light and pitter-pattering.<\/p>\n

A downside to this particular spike wheel is that the axel has some extra room, so the wheels frequently tilt\/shift to the side. This wobbling is especially noticeable if you press firmly, which I often do. I really wish the construction was tighter.<\/p>\n

Like every other metal spike wheel I\u2019ve owned, the Kink Pinwheel<\/a> has a subtle squeak. It\u2019s a quieter, tinnier squeak than the 50 Shades Darker Adrenaline Pinwheel<\/a>, but that probably varies. It doesn\u2019t bother me enough to dig the WD-40 out of my toolbox.<\/p>\n

Its intimidating appearance and occasional squeaky wheel made it a great prop for medical role play. I like the reach its handle gives me (the whole toy is about 7 inches long) because I can vary my tortures without giving away my next move by shuffling around. I just wish it was more precise; the wiggling wheels don\u2019t suit my \u2018mad scientist playing god\u2019 aesthetic.<\/p>\n

The Doc Johnson Kink Spike Pinwheel<\/a> is definitely beginner friendly because the sensation is so diffused and gentle. If you\u2019re curious about sensation play, it\u2019s a good pick, especially if you don\u2019t like pain or traditional tickling. If you already own a spike wheel, unless you\u2019re specifically after a less pokey version, there\u2019s nothing this wheel offers that warrants a splurge.<\/p>\n

master series lil devil sensation pinwheel by xr brands review<\/em><\/h4>\n

Looking at pictures of the XR Brands Lil Devil Pinwheel<\/a> online, I cooed about how tiny and cute it was. In person, I\u2019ve learned that this wheel is a stabby little bastard.<\/p>\n

Weighing less than a pencil and just over 3 inches long, the Lil Devil is officially the second smallest sex toy in my collection. (The Screaming O Vooom<\/a> is half an inch shorter.) It\u2019s made of black ABS plastic, which is rigid and non-porous. While the listing notes that it\u2019s \u201cnot meant to puncture skin,\u201d if it does and you plan on playing with others, you can sanitize it with a 10% bleach solution.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Its plastic construction allows the Lil Devil<\/a> to be sold at a budget-friendly $6 USD. This also means it\u2019s not as high quality as other wheels. In fact, most of its razor-pointed prongs have excess plastic from the manufacturing process.<\/p>\n

When I say \u201crazor-pointed,\u201d I mean it. This thing is very<\/em> pokey. If you\u2019re not into pain, you\u2019re going to have to be very light-handed. Because the Lil Devil Pinwheel wants a blood sacrifice. Luckily the wheel is very snug on its axel, so there\u2019s almost no wobble in use. You have full control of where its little spikes roll.<\/p>\n

The Lil Devil\u2019s short, flat handle means you\u2019re gripping it with fingertips and only have as much range as you yourself can reach.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This mean little son of a bitch is perfect for mild sadomasochism on the go. I wouldn\u2019t toss it loose into my bag \u2013 it\u2019s sturdy, but I imagine the wheel would snap off from being jostled around in luggage \u2013 but it\u2019s so tiny it can fit in my glasses case.<\/p>\n

The Lil Devil Pinwheel<\/a> is totally silent and teeny tiny, so (with prior consent) you can easily sneak it into a scene for a pinchy surprise. Even if you already have a metal pinwheel, I think it\u2019s worth grabbing for that novelty alone. If you\u2019re new to this kind of sensory play, the Lil Devil isn\u2019t an ideal start, unless you enjoy love bites and light scratching.<\/p>\n
