The Screaming O Charged Positive. I keep calling it the Screaming O-Positive Charged because it makes it sound like an energy drink for vampires. Truly, a superior name. (And fitting, since I\u2019ve been playing the Sims \u2013 including its vampire DLC \u2013 nonstop with my partner for weeks<\/em>. What can I say, we love arguing extensively over digital couch placement.)<\/p>\n

If this isn\u2019t your first time on the blog, then you know my feelings about Screaming O<\/a>. But you\u2019ve probably also seen me extensively mention that I\u2019ve only recently come out of poverty, and I\u2019ll prioritize a safe toy from a questionable company over a toy from a \u2018reputable\u2019 one if the price makes it accessible to more shoppers. So when Big Oh! Box asked if I\u2019d like to try one out, I said yes.<\/p>\n

The Charged Positive is a solid, weighty little bullet that\u2019s just a bit longer and wider than your average lipstick. Like the Vooom, on its base it has a single soft button for settings and a bellybutton that you pierce with its charging cord. It\u2019s always a bit of a struggle to insert the charging cord, as it\u2019s a long prong and you have to push hard enough to be worried you might break the thing, especially since you have no idea if you\u2019ve pointed it in the exact right direction until it slots into place. I hate<\/em> this style of cord and look forward to a future in which sex toy manufacturers devise less nerve-wracking ways to make rechargeable toys waterproof. When it\u2019s charging, the button glows red; when it\u2019s ready for use, the light turns off. Screaming O claims it gets about 60 minutes of use on its highest setting, and I\u2019d say that\u2019s a little<\/em> generous of an estimate but not by much. Which is pretty nifty!<\/p>\n

It also comes with a little stand for charging, which Screaming O suggests could also be used to holster the vibe and hold it against yourself. It\u2019s too clunky for me use because my pubic mound and labia are so thick; in fact, it makes it harder<\/em> for me to position it near my clit. But someone with limited hand mobility and an exposed clit might find the stand pretty useful! You can hold the base, or tuck your index and middle finger on either side of it.<\/p>\n

The vibe itself is made of hard ABS plastic with a polyurethane finish that feels like a smoother version of that so-called RubberCote that I loved so much on the Purple People Disappointer<\/a>. Because of this, the Charged Positive is one of my favorite stim toys now. Because anything<\/em> within hand\u2019s reach of my happily busy autistic hands becomes a stim toy, including vibrators!<\/p>\n

Now onto the most interesting part of this vibe: the vibrations. I\u2019ve orgasmed (infrequently) on a diet of pure buzzy vibrations for most of my adult life \u2013 I\u2019ve only recently<\/em> discovered the nirvana of rumbles. My body definitely prefers rumbles; in fact, I\u2019m probably rumble-biased. But in testing this bullet, I had the advantage of a second vulva to try it on in addition to my own \u2013 and that\u2019s how the Positive came into its second nickname, \u201cThe Mean One,\u201d courtesy of my partner Buster.<\/p>\n

The Positive has three steady vibration settings, and a truly baffling seventeen patterns<\/em>. Seventeen! I\u2019ll freely admit to being pretty unenthused about patterns in general, but surely I\u2019m not alone in thinking seventeen \u2013 especially<\/em> with only one button<\/em> to cycle through all of the settings \u2013 is kinda absurd? There\u2019s one pattern I like that\u2019s about halfway through the heap of them (a few short blips of vibration followed by a few sustained blips) but I\u2019ve only used it twice because finding it again is such a slog.<\/p>\n

Those steady settings though. That\u2019s where we find the basis of the bullet\u2019s second nickname. Cus they are mean<\/em>. Though the box and the promo lines promise \u201cdeep rumbles,\u201d this vibe is almost all buzz. But not the weak, itchy surface buzz of a cheap vibe from the mall \u2013 no, this thing hammers your junk with intense, almost penetrating buzz. It\u2019s a bully in the absolute best way.<\/p>\n

I wanted to review this bullet sooner, but hormones had me too sensitive to endure its wrath fairly. I\u2019d touch it to my junk \u2013 on the first setting<\/em> \u2013 and immediately recoil. So for awhile, we only used it on Buster. Buster \u2013 who routinely uses the Magic Wand Rechargeable for half an hour without coming \u2013 found the vibrations to be pretty strong. So strong, in fact, that in order to orgasm from it, they found themselves having to just settle in and accept the ride \u2013 for them, it was very much an act of endurance. You can either pin it loosely against yourself and be battered with buzz (in a good way? ish?), or cram it firmly against yourself and let the buzz shake you through it. Because the toy is all hard plastic and starts off strong on the very first setting, there is no leeway to what you\u2019re going to experience. (And in Buster\u2019s case, the experience is hard, forced orgasms.)<\/p>\n

But said experiences vary in effectiveness. While I definitely find the bullet as bullying as Buster does, it doesn\u2019t drag teeth-grinding, growly orgasms out of me. The vibrations are harsh, but not numbing as long as I\u2019m careful with how close or for how long I have it on or near my clit. They definitely feel better than your average buzzy vibration \u2013 these feel purposeful, intentional<\/em>, rather than just being the byproduct of a shitty motor. They don\u2019t penetrate deep like, say, a wand\u2019s usually does, but they\u2019re not just surface level either. I can feel the Positive\u2019s motor whirring steady and strong as I hold it, perhaps trying to produce the rumbles Screaming O intended. I just wish they\u2019d called these vibrations what they are<\/em> \u2013 firm, unyielding buzz \u2013 because what they are<\/em> isn\u2019t awful, it just isn\u2019t rumbly. And buzz even of the non-awful sort just doesn\u2019t do it for me; despite the strength, the Positive couldn\u2019t get me off. I need vibrations that rumble deep and stimulate more of the clitoral complex \u2013 buzz even this strong<\/em> doesn\u2019t have the reach.<\/p>\n

Like lipstick, the tip of the Positive has a firm slant for targeted application. For Buster, the tip made the bullet\u2019s hard plastic even meaner \u2013 very unlike the Vooom, which had a rounded nose that, for me, actually stifled the vibrations. If you\u2019re a fan of pinpoint stimulation, you might enjoy the Positive\u2019s slope. The power behind the vibrations is definitely harnessed closer to the tip than the butt of the bullet, but the end does just as much shaking as the rest of the vibe \u2013 so if you\u2019re prone to itchy fingers or achy joints from traveling vibrations, you might need the charging holster to distance your grasp a bit.<\/p>\n

The Positive isn\u2019t very loud, but it does make a slightly whiny persistent hum. Holding it against something dampens the noise considerably, and the lowest setting of my small fan blocks it out pretty well.<\/p>\n

The noises Buster makes when we\u2019re using the Positive? Much harder to drown out.<\/p>\n

Lover of vibrations on the buzzy side of the spectrum? Lover of pinpoint stimulation? In need of a strong, waterproof, rechargeable bullet vibe that lasts about forty-five minutes high and costs less than $50? The Charged Positive is worth a second glance.<\/p>\n

I definitely like the Positive despite my junk\u2019s lack of appreciation for firm buzz, especially since Buster has sent me several very delicious suggestions for what to do with it this upcoming weekend. I love toys that get us talking<\/em>. The thing I ended up loving most about the Sensations box<\/a> was how it got Buster and I curious, excited, and communicating \u2013 and with this quarter drawing to a close, I\u2019m really, really looking forward to their upcoming box. (And Big Oh Box didn\u2019t even ask me to plug them in this review, I\u2019m just legitimately excited.)<\/p>\n
